A Joyous time of fellowship, worship, study and outreach! Covenant Hosts the Progressive National Baptist Midwest Region 54th Annual Session...

Monday, April 17th - Friday, April 21st, Covenant Baptist Church, supported by Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, Bright Star Missionary Baptist Church, Second Ebenezer Baptist Church and Affinity Baptist Church hosted the Progressive National Baptist Midwest Region 54th Annual Session. The week was filled with worship, fellowship, Christian Education, mission outreach and fun! Each day the delegates came together for biblical studies, worship, regional/denominational business and mission outreach. The youth and young adults, laymen and laywomen's departments all went out into the community to serve in various locations. Mission sites included The City Mission, working in a community garden, delivering garments and personal care items to women in transition as well as making monetary donations. Thursday evening featured "President's Night," where we honored our regional president, The Rev. Dr. E.G. Shields, Jr. Special guests included Mayor Frank Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio, Councilman Brian Kazy from the West Side of Cleveland and Bishop Larry Macon, Sr., President of United Pastors in Mission. Evening Worship was led nightly by the churches listed above. Wednesday evening allowed delegates from across the Midwest to experience "A Taste of Cleveland!" Dr. Shields emphasized that this was the 1st time in the history of the PNBC Convention that a woman hosted, making Pastor Chris the 1st female pastor to host any PNBC region from across the US! Resurrection Morning Celebration at Covenant!

On Sunday, April 16th, 2017, Covenant celebrated the highest, holiest day on the Christian calendar - Resurrection Morning with worship, praise, receiving the Word of the Lord and a fellowship breakfast. We were especially blessed with the increase the Lord gave Covenant as we welcomed a new family! Rev. Patrice Brewer and her two beautiful girls, Phaedra Elise and Melodie ("Dee Dee") Victoria Brewer became members of Covenant. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast together and then celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ during morning worship. We give God praise for the marvelous things He continues to do with this ministry! See more pictures by visiting our Photo Album...

Baptism and Dedication Service...
On Sunday, April 23, 2017, Covenant was blessed to hold a baptism and dedication service for our new members. Sister Deidra Strode accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior, completed six classes of New Member Orientation and on 4/23 was baptized. Rev. Patrice and Rev. William Brewer presented and dedicated their two beautiful girls, Phaedra Elise and Melodie Victoria to the Lord on the same day. Members, family and friends came out to witness this glorious celebration! We are grateful to Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church for allowing us to use their baptismal pool and sanctuary for this special service.
