American Baptist Women's Ministries Retreat, hosted by Covenant Baptist Church...
"You Are the Salt of the Earth..." AB Women Retreat

On Tuesday, October 9th, 2018, Covenant Baptist Church hosted the American Baptist Women of Greater Cleveland for their annual retreat (Co-Presidents, Sister Connie Morrison and Sister Joan Isaac).
The theme for the retreat was, "You are the Salt of the Earth," taken from the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 5:13. Our own Pastor Chris Smith was the Bible Study instructor for the day. Women from across the Greater Cleveland area gathered for study, prayer, plans for mission work and outreach, fellowship and lunch. A delicious meal was prepared by Covenant's "1st G," supported by the wonderful Covenant Hospitality Ministry. We praise God for this wonderful community collaboration!

Ashland Theological Seminary "Thriving Church Ministries" Cohort, Hosted by Covenant Baptist Church...

Dr. Gabe Veas, Professor from Ashland Theological Seminary, leading the Thriving Church Ministries Cohort, hosted by Covenant Baptist Church, October 20th, 2018...

What an amazing experience we shared on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 as Covenant Baptist Church hosted the Ashland Theological Seminary “Thriving Church Ministries” Cohort, led by Dr. Gabe Veas. For this particular session, ministry leaders from across the Greater Cleveland area gathered to learn healthy ways to use social media to foster encouragement, support and growth as God's people. The Thriving Church Ministries Cohort is made possible through a grant from the Lilly Foundation.
Here’s a bit about the program: “This seminar will address the major ingredients necessary for personal and spiritual flourishing in effective pastoral ministry. Pastors and ministers will learn to create the conditions for their own well-being which includes such things as fostering healthy relationships, building and sustaining relational bonding, mentors, peer groups, and creating authenticity. Participants will explore their understanding of their core identity in relation to their calling. Focused attention will be given to the practical skills necessary for planning, problem definition, and problem-solving. Interaction and implementation in the group will be integrated with the pastor’s work in Project Based Learning #1.” To learn more, visit https://seminary.ashland.edu/…/thriving-church-ministries-c…
